Another prime-time slot is locked in for the Hurricanes.
Miami’s road trip to Stanford has officially been set for Friday, 4 September 2026, with kick-off confirmed for 9:00 PM ET in Stanford, California.
The game will be broadcast in the US on ESPN, giving the Canes an early-season spotlight game in one of the most interesting ACC cross-country matchups on the calendar. Hopefully we’ll get this one in the UK on DAZN.
This one stands out for a few reasons.
First, it is a Friday night game, which always adds a slightly different feel. The college football world will be watching, with fewer competing headline games and a full national audience focused on Miami.
Second, it is another example of just how strange and fascinating modern conference realignment has become. A classic East Coast power travelling across the country for a conference game against Stanford still feels slightly surreal, but it is now part of normal ACC life.
For Mario Cristobal’s side, this is the kind of early-season road test that can shape national perception quickly. A strong performance on ESPN in Week 1 builds momentum immediately. A flat one creates questions just as fast.
Stanford may not carry the same brand heat as Notre Dame or Florida State, but road trips to the West Coast are never simple. Travel, time zones, and a hostile late-night atmosphere can make these games far trickier than they look on paper.
For UK fans, this one is a proper late one.
A 9:00 PM ET kick-off means 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning, so if you are planning to stay up make sure you’ve stocked up on snacks.
Still, for Canes fans, these are the nights you stay awake for.
Prime time. National TV. Early statement opportunity.
Miami would not want it any other way.
The Last Word from Across the Pond
September games do not decide championships, but they absolutely shape them.
Go to Stanford, handle business under the lights, and Miami starts the season with serious momentum.
Because if the Canes want to be part of the Playoff conversation in December, it starts with proving it in September.
